Meet the Willet family, a partner debut!

G2C is super excited to introduce our newest partner, Jeremy and Kathleen Willet.
Jeremy and Kathleen are pursuing adopting a baby boy from Ethiopia, Africa and will be working to raise funds for the adoption process that costs in the upward range of $35,000.
This family hits close to home as one of our own team members at G2C is also pursuing an adoption from Ethiopia.  G2C was honored to join the Willet's in this partnership!  How incredible to get to be a small part in changing another life!

Jeremy is the lead singer for a rock band, WILLET, co-author of the book "Carried", and President of the "The Hunger Strike" .

Jeremy and Kathleen lived in Haiti from 2009-2010 where Kathleen served as the Community Development Program coordinator, and Jeremy traveled back and forth to the U.S. on tour with the band to encourage sponsorships of the children through Food for the Hungry.
In January of 2010, one month before the release of Willet's new record, "Teeth of a lion, fangs of a lioness", the unexpected happened, a massive 7.0 earthquake hit the country of Haiti while Kathleen Willet was in the country.  The band was on tour in New Zealand getting ready for a performance when they heard the news.  They waited 3 days to hear if Kathleen and her kids survived the tragedy.

Now, Jeremy and Kathleen serve together full-time with The Hunger Strike working domestically and internationally to alleviate extreme poverty.

The Ground to Cup team is extremely excited at the opportunity to partner with the Willet family in their work and in their future adoption.  Sharing their passion for orphans and adoption, G2C is privileged to give back 40% of all funds raised on behalf of their causes!  Together we get the chance to Bring Hope and a Future!

Follow their adoption here and purchase on behalf of their family!  Let's help them bring home Baby Willet!

Faithfest 2010

This past weekend, Ground to Cup enjoyed a Saturday out at the "Faithville Village" enjoying "Faithfest 2010".
The day was full of music, food and fun.  Glenn Green brought in Christmas with his live music ... everyone's favorite Christmas Carols and more.  BBQ plates were sold and the proceeds from the lunches went to benefit "The Hope Center", a local food bank in North San Antonio.  Many vendors lined the walks with all sorts of goodies for your Christmas shopping list.  Santa and Rudolph joined in the fun with pictures and dancing.  Kids enjoyed decorating their own cookies, played in the moon bouncy, rode in the train, and created their own necklaces that benefitted "Hope Africa", an orphanage in Iganga, Uganda.

Ground to Cup enjoyed a day of serving fresh roasted coffee and meeting the friends and families in our community!  We were blessed!

At Ground to Cup coffee, we have been personally touched by his work.  The Martine family met Steve years ago when he was a speaker for an event that they helped organize.  That night, Steve gave a talk called "Leaving a Legacy" that touched the heart of many in the room.  Birthed through his own experiences of loosing his first wife to cancer in 1997 shortly after the birth of their second child, Steve has walked first hand through many of the issues he now counsels.  For the Martine's, that night they knew they had met a man that was truly making an impact and since that night, have been passionate followers and advocates of his services!

Go check out his ministry!  If you or someone you know is hurting, Steve and Hope for Life Ministry is the place for you!  They also offer a multitude of DVD's and other resources that you can purchase through their site.  As well, you can contact Steve and see where he will be speaking next!  Maybe you and your spouse would like to spruce up your marriage?  Be sure to ask Steve about his "Song of Solomon" series.  It's one not to miss!

Be sure to click on Hope for Life under our partnerships and purchase coffee in their name.  40% of your purchase goes towards this ministry that is truly effecting the lives of many by bringing them a "HOPE and FUTURE"!

Welcome to Ground to Cup

Ground to Cup Coffee Company is located in San Antonio, Texas.  We are a company that roasts fairly traded organic and non-organic coffees from various origins and sells it to various places; restaurants, schools, organizations, and families.  We also offer flavored coffees and will soon be carrying non coffee items that we love and want to share with you.  But that's not WHO we are in it's entirety.  In fact, G2C is a company about so much more!
Back when 4 of our team members began to meet and put together a vision for what we felt our company would be, we knew that we could not deny that we not only were a group of friends passionate about great coffee, but our lives had been impacted by some major things that made us more than raving coffee fans, but friends with a purpose.
We wanted our company to be more than providing you a great cup of Joe, we wanted to impact your whole life and the the lives of others.  In essence, we indeed set out to Bring others a Hope and Future through our vehicle we knew well ... selling great coffee!

Our company as a whole is centered around 3 causes that have personally touched the lives of our team:
Adoption and Orphan Care, Breast Cancer and The Homeless and Hungry.  Our personal passions for these things drives us to want to make a difference in organizations and ministries we see that are effecting the lives of other families touched by them.  Through this blog, our goal is to give you a window into just how we set out by doing that.  More than just selling coffee, we as a company want to be hands on deck in effecting those lives and those organizations.  Here, we'll share that story with each of you as we take mission trips and visit orphans, as we walk the road of adoptions, as we spend time at our local food bank and homeless shelter and as we partner with organizations to impact Breast Cancer awareness and research.  This window will be a candid look into our lives and the life of this company.
But it doesn't end there, we are also committed to giving financially to those organizations.  At least 10% of all retail sales profits will go towards them and here, on this blog, we'll show you just where it is going.

As we began to create the fabric of our company we also realized that everyone is impacted by something different and has their own story.  It was then that we decided that we would also partner with other organizations and ministries to help them be the hands to the causes they are passionate about.  This is where the "Partnership Program" was birthed.  At Ground to Cup, we partner with other organizations and allow them to sell our coffee to help meet their own financial goals.  We have numerous ways of going about this through Online partnerships, private labeling and more.  Just touch base with us and ask.  We'd love to be your partner and work with you to see how we can be your fundraising partner and how together we can multiply our efforts in bringing others a future.

I hope you will join us and follow our journey here.  Our company is more than a company to us.  It is a place where we get to put our passions into action and together effect lives.  Here, we hope to give you a window into those lives and the story that is being written through our great coffee!

Sit back, relax, and grab your favorite cup of Ground to Cup Joe!  It's more than just coffee, it's HOPE!
